Celebrity Trends | Actress Bonnie Wright

Celebrity Trends

Now that young actress Bonnie Wright has become the girlfriend of Harry Potter, I'm sure her acting capital has grown, and once she's through with the Potter series, will probably pursue a larger number of film or TV projects.

In Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, playing the part of Ginny Weasley, she emerges as the girlfriend of Harry Potter; instantly gaining international recognition for her role.

While Wright has played some part in each of the Harry Potter films, she mainly had small lines except in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, where she had a more significant role.

Anyway, this recognition should open up doors for Wright to take her in whatever direction she wants to go, and I'm looking forward to see how it all works out for her.

As far as televison, Bonnie Wright has had roles in Stranded and Life in Pictures.

Celebrity Trends | Amazing Keira Knightley

Celebrity Trends

Some people may not know this about Keira Knightley, but her first role in a film was as Sabé in Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace.

Many Star Wars fans will know this answer, and it's the decoy queen that looked so much like the real queen played by Natalie Portman.

While Knightley didn't get a lot of exposure for that role it wasn't going to take long for her, as her breakout film role in 'Bend It Like Beckham' was just around the corner, and Pirates of the Caribbean followed not long after that, and now nothing is stopping the British acting superstar.

One negative aspect of Knightley's relationship with the press is the continuous implication that because she's skinny she's anorexic; which she has denied, but when she was attempted to be connected to the death of a young teenage girl from anorexia, she fought back and won a settlement from the Daily Mail which reported that. From then it's not covered in the way it used to be.

Knightley actually prefers a private life, and while loving acting, really doesn't like the fame connected it to. She has state that if and when she has children, she has no desire to expose her child to the industry.

Calling herself a workaholic, Knightley has said she would like to take some time off so she doesn't start to hate acting, but that doesn't seem to be any time soon on the horizon, as five projects are set to be released in 2010, and that doesn't hint at slowing down any time soon.

For Keira Knightley fans this will be great, but for Keira Knightley, it remains to be seen if she has the discipline to slow down and take a breather to enjoy her life.

Tattoo of Grim Reaper

Tattoo Grim Reaper

This tattoo of the grim reaper is awesome, and when you look at it, makes you think here's someone that likes their job a little too much!

Looking at the shadowing and detail of this tattoo shows that the artist was very talented, and he definitely caught the way we imagine, or probably fear, the grim reaper coming to get us when it's our time to go.

Either way, this is a really good tattoo, and the grim reaper gets a surprising amount of body canvass to market himself on.

Takashi Murakami and Louis Vuitton Partner for Another Colorful Design

Toy Trends

Takashi Murakami has become a household name in Japan, as he has successfully partnered with Louis Vuitton to create a number of small collections of high-end products.

This time around the two top brands have created “Putipanda,” which is a highly colorful design over a large toy, along with a smaller charm for a mobile phone.

Only the affluent need apply here, as the expensive toys may even challenge the budget of many who are leery of spending too much during these difficult times.

But the opportunity to get these hot items will definitely spur some to go ahead and splurge, but I think it'll be more for themselves than the little ones that would love the look.

Auto Trends | Metro Cell Vehicle

Auto Trends

I couldn't call this Metro Cell Vehicle an auto, but because it defies description at this time, we'll just use that for identification purposes.

This unique transportation device, offered as a 'human delivery system,' is designed specifically for the Los Angeles metro area, but could have potential in other regions as well.

At this time it's being called a PDD (pickup-drive-drop), and can be called upon by people and you can use it to get to where you want. When you're finished with that, you just get out and the Metro Cell Vehicle will return to a unique hub stack built for it.

Of course this is a Concept and is not certain to be used at this time, but it sure would give an interesting, futuristic look to those using them, and the LA area.

I wonder if it will include air conditioning? It looks like it would be extremely hot to drive in if it didn't.

What better place to have a great bike than in the heart of Amsterdam, and what better place is there to develop them?

Studio Raar is that company, based in the center of Amsterdam, who is rolling out some great bikes, even by the bike-loving standards of the area.

Some of these bikes include leather finishes and real sterling silver.

I wonder if you have a strong enough lock to be able to leave something like this anywhere?

Motorcycle Trends | Scorpion EXO-900 Helmet

Motorcycle Trends

The newest motorcycle helmet - the Scorpion EXO-900 - is the latest addition to riding safely; for those in extreme sports, as well as everyday riders.

This could even get those who prefer to ride without a helmet a reason to get one, as it's great for year round with the 3/4 helmnet, flip front modular and full face helmut in one.

The latest state-of-the-art fog free technology is used for the EverClear No-Fog Faceshield, and the SpeedView Sun Visor, which is retractable, includes a hardened coating which is anti-scratch. Both of these can be removed simply with no tools, making them even more attractive to the user.

For the helmet itself, it has a moisture-wicking breathable liner along with an AirFit helmet pump inflation system which will result in a customized fit for each user. You can't get any better than that.

Add this to the Dainese-d-air airbags and motorcycle riders are getting a lot of great and cool equipment to aid in safely, and look great at the same time. The Scorpion EXO-900 Helmet definitely adds to that trend.

Auto Trends | Dyson Ball Car

Auto Trends

What's the latest design from Santosh Chawla? It's throwing a car on top of and around a Dyson Ball. You know, the one that we saw navigating vacuum cleaners on infomercials.

Theoretically it could travel on almost any type of terrain and conditions, and could turn at 360º on a dime. And if you accidently turn at 360º on a dime while driving? Adios amigo. That's the end.

While I like the design, and the color of this prototype is one of my favorites for cars, it's just too cutesy to me, and would be more fun to play with on land you owned than being a realistic or safe way to travel.

But doing those 360s on some land or wide open space would be a blast, although it's hard to know how expensive it would cost, and it only runs on hydrogen fuel.

Bicycle Trends | Future City Mobility

Bicycle Trends

This is an interesting concept from Marten Wallgren and friends who imagined what traffic in London would be like in 2030. From there they looked developing an idea related to car-free-zones; and so the focus on this unique bicycle designed to work within a system in central London.

It's described this way:

"Allowing a special designed bicycle/scooter to be well integrated with the infrastructure as well as becoming a part of the interior of the busses and taxis. Inside London Garden, the users have more awerness of the individual energy consumption. In fact, the energy that you create while biking is used as a currency while docking the bicycle into the bus or taxi."

A unique bus is also figured into the equation which would be used the charge the combination bike-scooter, so you could use either option when getting off.

Retail Trends | Microsoft to Challenge Apple with Consumer Electronic Stores

Retail Trends

Microsoft strategy and store design plans were 'leaked' recently, and Microsoft confirms much of the leaks are true, but in reference to store design, they're still at the early stages of decision making.

As far as the strategy of placing a number of their consumer electronic outlets near or right next to Apple retail stores, Microsoft confirmed that is definitely part of their strategy, and they'll be rolling out some this year, and moving quicker in 2010.

One of the very cool design features of the stores, which many people have commented on if true, will make Apple stores look boring. Now wouldn't that be a change for Micrsoft.

The design talked about is a video wall which goes around the entire store, along with numerous other cool features that will make people want to hang out and shop.

Assuming Microsoft goes with a number of these features, they will have a great place to visit, and will seriously challenge Apple in consumer electronics retail competition.

Gaming Trends | Illustrations from Tribute to Resident Evil Ending

Gaming Trends

After about 10 years of Resident Evil capturing the imagination of fans, it looks like it's finally winding down to its final days, and in tribute to that, Richard Michaud offers some incredible illustrations to pay tribute to the compelling franchise.

Among the illustrations, which include major characters from the final game, with Jill Valentine, Chris Redfield, and Sheva being given some illustration love.

While nobody knows if this is really the end, because if a popular movie is made again or someone with a new twist to the gaming 'Resident Evil' twitch comes along, we just may see it come back again as the popular series it has been.

But at least for now, we've seen the end of the video game series of Resident Evil.

Auto Trends | New Transformer Bumblebee Chevy Camaro

Auto Trends

Riding on the popularity of Transformers and one of the favorite robots of them all - Bumblebee - Chevy is releasing a limited edition Camaro, which is an exact replica of Bumblebee in the Transformers.

Of course that doesn't include changing into Bumblebee, but you can't have everything.

Fans of the Bumblebee Camaro will get a nice insignia with the word 'Transformers' on the hood and side of the car, and is sure to draw the attention of some rabid Transformer fans out there.

One thing I love about it is the deep yellow color, which is one of my favorites for a car, so Bumblebee or not, I like this new Chevy Camaro.

Noureen DeWulf is an up and coming young actress who recently got her big film break starring in 'Ghost of Girlfriend's Past' with Matthew McConaughey.

She is also fortunate in having another film out this summer with Jeremy Piven and Will Ferrell called 'The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard.' She is also currently shooting The Back Up Plan with Jennifer Lopez, scheduled for a January 2010 release.

For some reason she says one of her dreams is to work with Quentin Tarantino, although his success has been spotty at best. Maybe it's a personal thing.

Either way, this young beauty who has roots in India looks like she's ready to explode on the national scene, and has had a great 2009 as a base to do just that.

Norio Fujikawa Jetscooter Design

Design Trends

This is an interesting design from Norio Fujikawa which combines a retro and futuristic look for this jetscooter.

What's particularly exciting about this is the wing-like fins that reminds you of cars from the 60s.

Looking at it as a work or art is probably more realistic the concept ever becoming a reality, as it seems it would be back heavy, making it difficult to really take off without turning over.

But who knows if extra weight would be added up front to counter that and make it a reality. Pretty neat either way, with room to adapt and change it while keeping the basic look.

Custom Designed Chanel Motorcycle

Motorcycle Trends

I like it when businesses of any type get a customized motorcycle made for marketing purposes, as usually all stops are pulled and a very nice customized bike is created; and that's the case with Karl Lagerfeld and Chanel, which showed of their customized motorcycle at the Chanel boutique on Rue Royale in Paris.

Along with models Lara Stone and Baptiste Giacobini he was in Paris shooting the press kit for their 'Starting Point' pre-spring collection.

Motorcyles designed well never fail as a prop, and this one for Chanel doesn't fall short in that regard. Nice looking bike.

The video she's referring to is one she put online for a much larger audience to potentially view, which you can see below.

Temperley focused on an oriental theme which was very engaging, as a variety of looks and styles were presented with her own take on the orient.

Being a lover of almost everything oriental, this is a nice and exotic line that is compelling and beautiful.

Hot Kelly Brook

Celebrity Kelly Brook

Voted year after year as one of the most beautiful or sexiest women in the world, there's nothing strange about Kelly Brook herself, as she looks good in just about anything, even the latex swimsuit she almost falls out of above.

She also can look fine in a see-through top like the photo below, where Kelly Brook shows she isn't shy about being sly.

The gorgeous Brook is British-born and has been a model, actress, TV presenter and occasional designer of swimwear.

She has played in a number of film and TV roles, including the girlfriend of Lex Luthor in the first season of Smallville for several episodes.

Brooks first role she starred in was School for Seduction, and also in Survival Island where she met Billy Zane, whom she dated for awhile.

Her next film role will be in Piranha 3-D as Danni.

Marotti’s Trike Motorcycle Car

Motorcycle Trends

From the front and three-quarters view, this three-wheel car, trike - or whatever you want to call it - from Marotti, has the look and feel of something from outer space or a former sci fi film. The side view of the vehicle leaves a lot to be desired, and wasn't though out too well in my opinion, but otherwise isn't too bad.

The inclusion of tail fins and rudders makes you think of the 60s, along with the sleed body design.

According to Poland-based Marrotti, it's "as dynamic as a motorcycle and, at the same time, as safe and easy to drive as a car." Maybe we could call it a carcycle, or something like that!

The 750cc V-four 100 horsepower motorcycle engine from Honda pushes the 970-pound car pretty good, and would be a lot of fun to try.

Now what is its use again?

Trends | Solar Pool Skimmer

Tech Trends

Here's a pretty cool solar pool skimmer tech gadget you use in your pool to keep all that surface stuff out of your way and keep it from interfering with your swimming experience.

It includes a couple of solar panels at the top where it soaks in the sun's rays and gets energized. Two paddlewheels then propel the little guy and off it goes cleaning your pool's surface. It also has wheels on its side panels which allows it to maneuver around.

A NiMH recharageable battery stores up the energy and run for 8 hours on a charge.

The skimmer also identifies when its batteries are getting low and will take it to a part of the pool which has sun through an internal microprocessor.

It also recognizes when there is no sun and will slow down in order to conserve energy; whether at night or on cloudy days.

The pool skimer measures 6 1/4" H x 20" W x 23" L.

Celebrity Trends

Orlando Bloom is one of the more well known actors in the world, and has been fortunate enough to star in two of the most popular film series of all time: Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Carribbean.

It may not have been all luck though, as he may just know how to pick the right roles and films to work in.

Bloom got his first breakout role in Lord of the Rings, where he was cast as Legolas the Elf, a key part in the overall story.

Some films Bloom is currently involved in are New York, I Love You, which is waiting to be released; Sympathy for Delicious, which is in post-production; Main Street, also in post-production; and The Cross, which is in pre-production.

Rumors are Orlando Bloom is also in pre-production for The Cross, and also The Red Circle.

At this time it seems his relationship with Miranda Kerr is still on.

I like Orlando Bloom, and think he's a highly underrated actor. While he has had some success as a leading man, I think a breakthrough role there will propel him to the recognition he deserves.

Crowe has of course been in a number of altercations in the entertainment industry and without, which have caused him embarrassment, lots of money, and in the argument with producer Malcolm Gerrie, he may have lost the Oscar award for Best Actor in A Beautiful Mind, as many think he lost respect and votes from the Academy voters over the situation.

He eventually won his first and so far, only Oscar, for Best Actor for his starring role in Gladiator.

Other films he's starred in include L.A. Confidential, The Insider, Proof of Life, Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World, 3:10 to Yuma and American Gangster.

The latest entry into the field is the Dainese D-Air airbag, which differentiates itself by not having to have the rider on the bike in order to triger the inflatable.

Existing motorcycle airbags require the rider to leave the bike before they trigger.

Why this is important is many riders never leave their bikes but crash while still sitting on the seat. This would add extra protection for those moment.

Emma Watson Growing Up

Celebrity Trends

It's been a lot of fun watching Emma Watson grow up before our eyes from a little girl to a beautiful young woman. Watson is refreshing because she's a normal person, and prefers to keep it that way in spite of her enormous celebrity, fame and fortune.

Most young celebrity stars aren't able to keep their live in order, and become self-destructive when they become young adults. Watson is having none of that, and has no real desire to necessarily continue on with the acting thing any time soon, once she's through with the Harry Potter series.

Instead, she's focusing her life on college, and is looking to go to an Ivy school in the U.S.

The latest installment of the Harry Potter film series: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince will be released worldwide on July 15. It should be a huge blockbuster.

It will be very interesting to see where Emma Watson is going in her life after the Harry Potter series, as she's got her priorities in order and isn't going to move off of them.

It's amazing to see this young woman have it together in this way, and in position to call her own shots for the rest of her life.
